Tap in for free every Monday in October. Plus, you get a complimentary coffee. Awesome.

Remember when iPhone users got all the fun? Oh how the tables have turned. Mastercard is giving Android Pay users free travel on London’s travel networks in October.

Mastercard ran the initiative for a month last year, except it was exclusive to Apply Pay users who tapped in using their iPhones and flashy watches. Now, anyone with a Mastercard loaded onto the Android Pay app can touch in and out for free using their Android device every Monday in October.

That’s October 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th that you need to stick in the diary for free journeys galore.

The giveaway covers all travel up to £30.50 across the bus, Tube, tram, FLR, Tfl Rail, London Overground routes and most of London’s National Rail services. Journeys via Emirates Air Line cable car and the MBNA Thames Clippers River Bus service are also included.

What’s more, Mastercard has got friendly with Caffè Nero to give you free coffee or a hot drink on those same dates. How lovely.

Both offers do require you to pay for your eligible journeys and drinks as normal, but Mastercard will refund the cost within 28 days. That should be a decent little bonus to look forward to.
