And no, you don’t have to be naked…
Everyone knows tracking weight is a game of random variables – you may be bloated, your scales are a bit off, there’s an unexplained disturbance in the Force – that kind of thing. And sometimes you’re getting measurably fitter, but not losing any weight. Given that, it’s hard to see what effect all your hard work is actually having.
With The Naked Fitness Tracker, you can now accurately track and see the changes in your body thanks to its in-built 3D body scanner.
Designed for use at home, the tracker uses lasers to scan and create a 3D model of a body, enabling the user to track change in their body against their fitness goal. The tracker is comprised of three parts: the scale (which doubles as a rotating platform for that whole body scanning experience), a full-length mirror outfitted with Intel RealSense depth sensors for the actual scanning, and the ‘Naked’ mobile app.
And it works as simply as it looks. Just step on the scale in your undies, let the scale rotate as the mirror scans your body and in a minute, all your data is sent to your app.
The scan tracks your volumetric body fat percentage, gives you accurate body measurements and, of course, measures your weight. The app even lets you visualize whether you’re gaining and losing muscle and fat using Naked’s heatmap, and you can make a time-lapse of your body’s fitness journey. And you could share your progress with a doctor, personal trainer or even your friends.
With a sleek design, the Naked body scanner also functions as a great accessory to your home with the small scale the only hint to its real function.
While we are a little worried about having a mirror that really can tell if you are the Fairest Of Them All, Naked Labs – the tracker’s creators – assures users that all biometric data is anonymized and secure, giving you the ability to dictate who can actually see your scan.
