Tried of plasticky fitness trackers that look like 80s digital watches? Samsung thinks it has the answer

People who want to get fit also have no sense of style. That, at least, appears to be the working assumption behind a lot of the fitness trackers on the market. And it’s an assumption that Samsung wants to challenge with its new Charm, which aims to take a distinctly more fashionable approach to the business of getting digitally fit.

Announced at MWC this year but becoming available now, it’s a tracker that comes in three trendy colours – gold, back and the inevitable rose.

The charm also features an accelerometer for counting steps, calories burned and distance travelled but unusually there’s no heart rate monitor. The app is currently only available for Android phones but there’s be an iPhone version along “soon”.

The Charm gets a UK release in June, and should be available for around $40.
