You can now flash your phone to make a saving in the week before pay day when you're signed up with Android Pay.

Enjoying the convenience and novelty of paying using Android Pay on your smartphone since it launched in the UK? You’re about to love it even more, because the Google-owned contactless payment service just announced a ton of offers and discounts for all of its users every month.

The initiative is called Android Pay Day, and it starts today with a free Frappucino thrown in when you buy one from Starbucks and £5 off your first Deliveroo order. More offers will roll in every month just before pay day, and you can check here to see the offers du jour.

To redeem your free Frap, all you have to do is pay as normal by tapping your phone at the till in Starbucks. To get your hands on your Deliveroo treat, enter  the codeANDROIDPAY5 at the checkout if you’re a new user, or ANDROIDPAY2.5 if you’re an existing one.

Android Pay 3Not already on the Android Pay wagon? All you need is a compatible Mastercard, Visa credit or debit card. Currently, the service supports bank accounts with Bank of Scotland, First Direct, Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds Bank, M&S Bank, MBNA and Nationwide Building Society.

Just download the Android Pay app on your phone, quickly link your card to the account, then proceed to pay for stuff just by whipping out your phone and hovering it over the payment terminal in shops – something you might have already been doing if your bank card is contactless, except now you don’t even have to fumble around in your wallet or purse.

Android Pay lets you pay for things using your phone wherever contactless payment is accepted, which includes places like Starbucks, Costa, Boots, and Aldi. It also functions as a digital wallet, letting you use your Android Pay account to pay for stuff in third-party apps like JD Sports, Zara and Deliveroo.
