Watch your favourite smartphone snaps turns into mini prints in 10 seconds flat.
Even though we document pretty much every waking minute of our lives digitally these days, it doesn’t mean we want to bid farewell to the old-fashioned physical photograph.
There are a few cool ways to put your smartphone snaps on paper (check out the Prynt phone case and LifePrint GIF printer), and the Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 is the latest keepsake maker to catch our attention. Launching in mid July, the Instax Share SP-2 is a wireless printer for your smartphone that churns out 62mm x 46mm prints of your favourite shots.
Fujifilm already has a printer that does exactly this – the Instax Share SP-1 – except it’s slower, and the picture quality isn’t dazzling. The Instax Share Sp-2, however, can shoot out your credit card-sized snaps in just 10 seconds, and boasts higher image resolution and contrast.
It’s compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. and all you need to do is download the Share app to make the fun stuff happen. Once you’ve taken a photo on your device, just go into the Share app, play around with the template settings, and fire your photo over to the printer with just a single tap of your finger.
The Instax Share SP-2 brings a few more templates and filters to the table. With a ‘Custom’ filter, you can manually adjust the brightness, contrast and saturation of your image before printing. A ‘Collage’ template lets you combine two to four images into one Instax print, while a ‘Split’ template lets you split one image between two Instax prints.
There’s also a ‘Real-Time’ template that will overlay your Instax prints with the exact time, place, weather, temperature and humidity from when your photo was taken – just in case you’re really into remembering the details.
You’ll be able to snap up the Instax Share SP-2 for $200 (around £150) when it hits the shops. It takes the same 10-print cartridges as the Instax Mini cameras, and you can pick up a pack of 2 for $20 (around £18). The printer will be available in either gold or silver.
