Its the first smart home gadget to get cosy with OnHub.

If you’re the proud owner of the Google OnHub WiFi router, you can now dabble in some Philips Hue fun without even needing your phone to hand.

Thanks to a new partnership with Philips Lighting, all you need to do to toggle your Philips Hue lighting setup is type On.Here into any web browser on any device. You’ll then be able to enjoy the full range of control from your desktop – a welcome prospect if your phone is already laden with smart home apps galore.

Philips Hue

The Philips Hue range includes bulbs, switches and dimmers

If you don’t have any Philips Hue lights, Google OnHub is still a handy little nipper to have around the house. It’s main skill is beaming super-fast WiFi via 13 antennas, and it also offers troubleshooting tips on your mobile, laptop or tablet to help you fix connection hiccups.

You can add it to your IFTTT smart home recipes too, but Philips Hue is the first physical product that OnHub has strapped under its belt. Learn more about Google OnHub here.
