Dash buttons can now remind you to stock up on everything from air freshener and detergent to crisps and energy drinks.
There are few things more frustrating than making the effort to trek to the supermarket, only to return and realise you’ve forgotten milk or bought the wrong kind of cereal. Amazon have heard your frustrated cries and designed Dash buttons that remind you to stock up on your groceries and household essentials.
These little gadgets have been available in the US for a while now and to celebrate the one year anniversary since Amazon announced that they have now more than tripled the amount of brands that work with Dash.
The new retail categories available include snacks, vitamins, office products, feminine care, batteries and a wider range of beverages including fruit juice and tea. And major brands including Burt’s Bees, Red Bull and Doritos have joined the new food-ordering craze. The latest categories and brands means Dash buttons are more than a novelty and can help out when needed the most, for example the addition of tampons, vitamins and crisps because, let’s be honest, sometimes needing a snack is an emergency.
All you need to do is use Dash to scan your existing groceries, allocate a button to each one and add them to your shopping list when your supplies are running low. When you’ve run out of an essential, simply press the Dash button and it will automatically reorder the item from Amazon with Prime shipping so it will turn up at your door the next day. You can also receive order notifications and change your basket.
We’re still waiting for the UK launch of Amazon Fresh with no confirmed release date so we’ll have to wait a little longer for these handy kitchen helpers.
