Sonos just landed us with one more giant reason to grab a set of its smart speakers: the ability to stream Apple Music to every room in the house.
If you’re not already dabbling in the art of multi-room music streaming, you may be tempted after Sonos’s announcement that its smart speaker system will now play Apple Music throughout your entire house.
Apple music joins the likes of Spotify, Deezer, and Google Play Music in Sonos’s catalogue of available music apps, and can be controlled in the usual Sonos way. That is, with the luxuriantly lazy tapping and swiping of an app on your phone.
Here, you can choose to stream Apple Music throughout all of your speakers or on a room-by-room basis, adjust the volume, skip tracks, and pause and play at your leisure.
You’ll also be able to tap into Apple Music’s own great features, such as For the You music suggestions, Apple Music Radio, and your lovingly-compiled My Music library.
To get Apple Music up and running on your Sonos speakers, all you have to do is select “Add Music Services” from the Sonos app, choose the Apple Music Icon, and log into your account. Of course, you’ll have to be an existing Apple Music subscriber, or at least have a free trial to get a piece of the action.
